I say it's 4.25- 4.5 stars but won't let me.
I have been waiting a long time for this sequel. this book is written well and enjoyable to read. regardless of what one may think at face value of gritty material content. Life is gritty for all of us, and Sara Jae Foster captures that in this book for her main characters and a couple of supporting ones as well. If you have walked with Christ for any period of time , you may find that you can relate to at least one if not all of the characters ups and downs and reactions/ responses to them.
It's my opinion Sara Jae, captured some truth of what it must have been like for some of these ladies to try and become reformed, without a lot of the gritty detail, the book didn't have inappropriate language or scenes- for mature readers. I think it would be a good thing for a Bible study discussion or women's reading group, as so much of what the characters experienced is relevant to today- and how we handle adversity and what we choose when we think God is silent, when He doesn't respond in our time etc.
now if you read the first one and you are anything like me for details, you may want to skim the pages to refresh yourself with some key points of the story. If not , the book is fine as a stand alone because Sara Jae gives you just enough info on book one and how we got here in book 2 so as to not take away from this story ,but also fill you in on the beginnings.
I personally wasn't sure right away what I was going to think about this story , but Sara Jae kept you guessing all the way to the end. Just when I thought I figured out how we were going to get to the end , something else happened to the contrary.
this is a story about hope, disappointment, forgiveness, doubts- in others , self and God, loving your enemy, going after what you want, redemption, God's grace and His perfect timing, good friends/ family/ community.
Sara Jae is an author using her talents to honor God and in so doing has brought us many great tales , I am looking forward to the next one.

I love reading about romance . I say that with longing in my own heart.
Because of the love of Jesus we can fine our true love in him.
I will read more of books written by Sarah Foster. I was nice easy read.

Loved it right from the first few words. I read way to fast when I am enjoying the story. Was so excited when I heard the second of the series was available. Sarah kept me interested start to finish. So when will the next book be ready
